Also called ulcer or pressure injury

Necrosis of the skin and underlying tissues forming a black crust. These wounds constitute a significant source of pain and disability.

Main risk factors: skin aging, immobility, malnutrition, deficiency in sweating, cellular oxygenation, urinary or fecal incontinence, depressive state, etc.

Among the hospitalized population, 7% of patients present with bedsores.
