Fractures

Sudden rupture of a bone or cartilage occurring after a trauma of a certain violence

Normally, a fracture progresses towards the fusion of the bone ends by the formation of a fibrous callus which ossifies little by little.

Fractures are treated by immobilizing the injured parts.

Following a fracture type trauma, a complication frequently appears: algodystrophy which manifests itself by

• stasis of the lymphatic system and venous system,
• painful blockage of the affected limb
• and prolonged inability to move.
