Ménière's Syndrome / Dizziness
Sudden attacks of rotating vertigo accompanied by ringing in the ears, deafness, of variable duration (from a few minutes to a few days).
These are vascular disorders with hypertension of the labyrinthine fluid which can lead to a progressive degenerative process in the ear.
Check if there are no reflex causes by alteration of neighboring organs: nose, throat, eyes, teeth, neck osteoarthritis, temporo-maxillary osteoarthritis.
Each cause of vertigo has its own treatment:
- vertigo and neuritis: inflammatory damage to the vestibular nerve,
- vertigo and cervical osteoarthritis (contested by some doctors),
- vertigo and tumor of the auditory nerve, tumor of the cerebellum,
- vertigo and aging: osteoporosis,
- typical Ménière's vertigo: occurs during annoyance, stress, anger
- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, appears when turning in bed, due to displacement of the otoliths of the inner ear
- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo which appears when turning in bed: due to displacement of the otoliths of the inner ear.
