Ménière's Vertigo

Sudden attacks of ringing in the ears and deafness of varying duration (a few seconds to a few days). Several forms can be found:

• neuralgic vertigo due to vascular disorders with hypertension of the labyrinthine fluid,
• neuritis vertigo linked to meningo-neuritis (progresses towards irreducible deafness),
• truncal vertigo due to tumor of the cerebellopontine angle with signs of damage to the nervous system.

Possible causes : High blood pressure, anemia, intoxication, earwax blockage, hypoglycemia, epiletic disorders, agoraphobia, pregnancy, liver disease, parasitosis, effects of certain medications, arthritic conditions.

Is often accompanied by nausea, ringing in the ears and partial deafness.
