Pancreatitis

Inflammation of the pancreas which can manifest itself by various symptoms and has multiple causes.

Acute pancreatitis: rapid inflammation of the pancreas. Alcoholism and cholelithiasis are the most common causes. A tumor of the pancreas, the presence of parasites, helminths, mumps, lupus, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are among the known causes.

Chronic pancreatitis: chronic inflammation whose most frequent etiologies are chronic alcoholism and genetic origin.

Symptoms: Predominant pain epigastric, radiating into the back and left scapula, relieved by the dog position. Frequent nausea and vomiting. Blood tests reveal increased pancreatic enzymes and white blood cells.
