Parkinson's Disease

Essentially characterized by a special tremor, pronounced especially in the fingers (movement of crumbling bread, rolling a dumpling), slowness of movements and sometimes generalized stiffness. Other disorders may be associated with it: ear pain, urinary disorders, smell, speech, swallowing, mood, sleep or excessive fatigue.

It is due to a lesion of the corpus striatum and the substantia nigra. It is linked to a deficiency in the dopaminergic system of the brain. It generally develops between the ages of 55 and 65.

There is always a lesional state of the intestinal wall which has 100 million neurotransmitters, 20 of which are identical to those produced by the brain.
