Tachycardia

Tachycardia is a rapid or even irregular heartbeat, usually greater than 100 heartbeats per minute and up to 400 beats per minute. At this rate, the heart cannot effectively supply the body with oxygenated blood.

It can occur in the upper chambers of the heart (atrial tachycardia) or in the lower chambers (ventricular tachycardia).

It can be symptomatic: of infectious, toxic, cachectic, nervous, cardiovascular or essential origin.
