Prevention of fertilization or, in general, pregnancy without using the oral pill.

Ovulation normally takes place on the 14th day of the cycle. In the event of a long cycle, it may be the 20^th day. In case of a short cycle, it may be the 10^th day. The 1^st day of bleeding (even minimal) corresponds to the 1^st day of the cycle.

Ovulation corresponds to the moment when the egg is released by the ovary. The ovarian follicle (which has until then enveloped the egg in a protective cocoon) ruptures: the egg is ready to be captured by the widely open pavilion of the fallopian tube. Fertilization can only occur during the ovulation period.

• Observation of mucus and cervix predicts ovulation.
• Temperature confirms ovulation.
• The infertile phase presents a dry cervix, a rather dry vulva.
• The fertile phase presents a cervix at maximum humidity (abundant cervical mucus).
