Acid-Base Balance

Acidification occurs when the consumption of acidifying and acidic foods is greater than that of alkalizing foods

The acid-base balance can be summed up in 3 essential points:

  • supporting the liver,
  • cleaning up the digestive tract,
  • rebalancing the intestinal flora.

The acidifying potential of foods is measured by PRAL technology (Potential Renal Acid Load). On this basis of the potential renal acid load (PRAL), researchers established a measure of the capacity of foods to increase or decrease the acidity of the body. As a general rule, the urinary pH should be as follows:

  • in the morning, from 6.2 to 7, 0
  • in the afternoon, from 6.6 to 7.2
  • in the evening, from 7.0 to 7.4
